THE DEPTHS OF CRATER LAKE
Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the US and is one of the Pacific Northwest's most impressive wonders. Its depth of 1,943 feet (592 meters) makes it the ninth deepest fresh water lake in the world!
Its pristine water screams for a summer dip
Because of the steepness of the crater, only one trail leads to the water's edge. Luckily, you can take a plunge or scenic boat trip via the Cleetwood Trail at the north end of the lake. Crater Lake only takes about a half a day to explore, so I recommend heading to Umpqua Hot Springs for the afternoon to rest your bones.
