"Postmodernity is said to be a culture of fragmentary sensations, eclectic nostalgia, disposable simulacra, and promiscuous superficiality, in which the traditionally valued qualities of depth, coherence, meaning, originality, and authenticity are evacuated or dissolved amid the random swirl of empty signals." Jean Beaudrillard
In collaboration with my pal Jo Lundberg, this project was immortalized at evo Seattle, featuring a fresh body of work that explored the convergence between natural and manmade realms.
Through the combination of fluid and crystallized forms, attention is called towards our dissolving relationships with nature and spirituality as we move further into the postmodern world. Transitioning through this age of chaos, confusion and forecasts of catastrophic climate change, we are challenged to invert our mindset from Me to We, to put the pieces of our broken world back together, prioritizing meaning, through interconnectivity and authenticy.
